Are atheists ignorant of the bible? why don't you stop spreading lies and start telling truth?
We seem much better versed in your compendium of fairy tales and its alleged context than you. Truth hurts, eh?
Reply:They're stubborn as mules...but then, so are many Christians.
PS-In the New Testament God allows for pork and other previously prohibited meats to be eaten.
Reply:I think this is actually kind of funny. Many of the Atheists that I know, myself included, come from a very religious background. I stopped believing in Religion when I saw how many of the people I grew up with and went to church with were very hypocritical. Just because you may believe in a God, or higher being, does not make you better or more knowledgeable than us. And it goes the other way, just becuase we chose to not go down that path does not mean that we are ignorant fools. To each their own. It's JUST religion. It shouldn't rule our lives; there are much more important things that we should be concerning ourselves with.
Reply:Most atheists in the West in modern times are Christians. You know that? Once baptized you are forever Christian. Even when you realize it's all illogical.
Reply:I am a christian and I have been on this site before many of times. This question is going to anger lots. Please do not stereotype. There are some atheists who could tell you the bible front to back by memory but only look at it as a good story. I think a lot of them on this site like to get people who believe in creation ( mainly Christians) all worked up.
Reply:Christian for 18 years
Graduate of Gonzaga University (Jesuit Education)

bring on your biblical debate.
Reply:Tell me what context Deuteronomy 13:6-10 is in?
Reply:What on earth are you trying to say? That atheists lie or that Christians who say that atheists have never read the bible are lying? It is hard to tell
Make your question coherent and people may be able to respond.....
Reply:I think most Christians are ignorant of the bible as well as atheists. I've read it... I don't buy it... whatever....
Reply:...says the christian as she looks in the mirror
Reply:Atheists are generally a lot more knowledgeable and honest when it comes to Biblical matters. They are free to look at it from an objective viewpoint and are not blinded by any ideology telling them it must be "true" or "infallible" or anything as dishonest as that.
Many atheists come to be atheist by studying the Bible, it is not generally ignorance of the Bible that leads to their position. Ignorance of the Bible, and a refusal to deal with the obvious problems within it is much more a Christian thing than an atheist thing.
Reply:Many atheists are probably very knowledgable about the Bible. They just choose not to believe.
Reply:Why do Christians insist on using only parts of the Bible that suit their context then hm? Shall I forward you to a wonderful website called godhatesshrimp.com? Because obviously if we're using the Old Testament to say that homosexuality is a sin then we obviously need to stick to the rest of the book where it says you shouldn't eat anything from the sea that doesn't have fins and scales. Oh and that part about not wearing mixed weaves...soooo bye bye polyester? Damn.
The next time you try and lump all of the atheists/pagans into one big boat of ignorance feel free to turn the mirror around.
After all, let he who has not sinned (or not read the Bible cover to cover, any version will do.) cast the first stone.
Reply:Actually...non-believers tend to put the bible IN context. Its the believers who do it the other way around so as to validate their beliefs.
Reply:yeah what ever, who cares stop showing hate try to get along please.
Reply:Are christians ignorant of the bible? why don't you stop spreading lies and start telling truth?
Reply:Do is right on do is ..so smart an all pass tha fattie...
Reply:I know the context. Old testament - Bronze age desert goat herding nomads guessing about the universe, borrowing from the people they came across, and formulating a book. New Testament - Iron age desert nomads make up a theology from old Persian, Egyptian, Zoroastrian, and some Jewish, beliefs. They also invent a carpenter with magic powers to center it around.
And we have - The Bible.
Reply:Right back at ya'.
Reply:Huh? how can you you possibly be able to form an opinion on such matters when you can hardly even spell. Don't you think you probably should further your own personal education before you start accusing others of not knowing enough?
Reply:Now before you start preaching Bible please take the Bible in your hands and log on to www.evilbible.com to know the truth and verify it.
Reply:Ok not to tick you off, but which bible the first, second, or the third. How many bibles are they going to make and change? Did you know in the first one that it says your not supposed to eat pork, I wonder why that changed? Sorry to burst your bubble but aren't you judging people? Isn't that against your religion? Need I say more?
Reply:This atheist attended a Catholic school for 8 years, dear. I'm willing to bet that I know it better than you do.
Edit: The "th efasted route to get to a liquor store" - rofl!! I don't know the fasted route yet, but I'm sure that, as a good Christian, you'll share it with me.
Reply:Let me give you some out-of-context scripture just so your Q is justified:
ISAIAH 42:19
"Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord's servant?"
How's that for not knowing the Bible? Though out of context, it will anger some people that I remind them of their faith in this way. But, you know, I get a little miffed when X-tians feel the need to cut %26amp; paste half the book on here in an effort to sound educated, when really it just comes off strident... hope you like all the interesting responses you're probably going to get.
*drink*
Reply:Gooooood. Atheists anger you. Use that anger and come to the darkside. It is your destiny. You know it to be true. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.
Reply:..and we're to assume, by your question, that you would be the Knower of Truth. No thanks...you need to provide much more evidence than just an unsubstantiated claim.
Reply:probably because Christians are often just as ignorant of it and perpetuate many of the lies themselves without realizing it.
Reply:I went to church for 15 years of my life, every single Sunday.
I've read the Bible many times over.
I grew up in a religious Irish family.
Now it's your turn: http://www.talkorigins.com/
Prove that YOU are not ignorant of that which contradicts the Bible.
Reply:You are correct. Many of them don't even know what they are talking about.
