HELP! My wife can't pass Calculus. She wants a business degree but this is stopping her. What should I do??

She is one class away from her associates degree in business. Then she plans to finish at the University of Central Florida. She has taken calculus twice and gotten a D both times. (She needs a C to transfer). I even paid for a tutor this last time but it didn't seem to help. Valencia Community College only offers one calculus class--and that is ALL she needs to pass. She studies so hard and cries a lot. I just want to help her. should we try again? I wondered if there is a good school that doesn't require calculus. Should she try another program? which one? Please help. I hate seeing her suffer like this.

HELP! My wife can't pass Calculus. She wants a business degree but this is stopping her. What should I do??
UCF requires Calc? Many business majors just need Stats, not Calc. Can she take Stats instead of Calc and have that count?

Contact both UCF and the transfer counsellor at her university. See if Stats can count instead of Calc for her math requirement. Some students who find calc difficult find stats easier, if only because the math seems more practical.

If she needs calc to transfer as a business major to UCF, consider if the following might work:

- Have her apply to UCF to transfer as a major that doesn't require calc. Something related to business, such as Event Management, Health Information Management, Health Services Admin, Public Adminstration, or Food Service Mgmt. Look into those majors, see if they require calc of transfer students. If not, she should consider making the change.

- Have her major in something that isn't business related at all, and which doesn't require calc. Have her do a co-op or internship in a business related field. When she graduates, she can rely on that co-op to help her get her first full time job in business.

She should do the co-op or internship anyway, actually.

I hope one of these suggestions helps.
Reply:You mean, pre-calc, don't you? That's all my undergrad business degree called for (my MBA had no math requirements, oddly, just accounting).

Start over, if she truly needs calculus. You also might consider looking into a program that doesn't require calculus (at another school).

How do I talk to this girl that's not in the same class as me?

so i go this center...it's a place in my college where you can review over material from science courses (like lab)...it serves as a tutoring place as well.......

How do I talk to this girl that's not in the same class as me?
Just walk up to her and talk to her. The more open you are, the better it'll be. :D
Reply:talk the way to her you would talk to anyone else
Reply:Be a man~!! So that she would think you are nice. Start a nice conversation.
Reply:when u see her in the halls, say hi to her! just be a gentleman.
Reply:Whats to stop you "accidentally" bumping in to her and then helping her pick up her books she dropped etc and starting a conversation that way if your too shy to just walk right up to her and start speaking with her
Reply:just walk up to her club her in the head and take her back to your cave. mmmmmmmmmm smash!!
Reply:alright well im not sure how your whole lab thing is set up but i would just go up to him (in your case her) and say i hate working by myself.. mind if i sit here. then ask about how his (her) days been, ask about their classes and maybe ask if theyre doing anything that day and if they liked me back they would suggest doing something
Reply:When you see her say hi and ask her about her classes. See if she is interested in the classes you are taking. Ask her for some help in a class, but tell her that you need her number because you have to go to class. Give her your number, too, in case of an awkward moment.

Good luck!
Reply:Bump to her in the hallway and introduce yourself.
Reply:go up to her and ask her if she can help you out with an answer. then start a discussion and ask what classes she takes and stuff. good luck!
Reply:Wen u c her pretend like you bump into her and say im so sorry some 1 pushed me and start talking about that and c were it brings u.
Reply:Just ask her if she wants to go get coffee or whatever you collage folk do.
Reply:Grab your Gut!!!!! And go up to her. She probably wont bite you. Talk to her girls like to see there noticed, talk to her. See if she is really someone you want to talk to. The outside can be decieving. Don't be scared and don't feel stupid.
Reply:Id say go up to her during lunch or break

somthing like that

you guys will hit it off!
Reply:go straight up to her and open your mouth then talk.... pretend that she's just a friend that you can easily talk with...
Reply:learn what she is doing learn it good and ask her if she need help
Reply:ask her wat she thinks of your teacher or yea or just ask her if she wants to get sum coffee, say you need a break from school(unless she luvs school then u gotta think of sumthin else

I said that my friend sold her baby.....she still wants to be friends?

The other day I asked my friend if I could use her address to get into a nearby college. She said "no" b/c I didn't drive an hr to tutor her in math last weekend(microbiology and finals kept me in). well I said OK, then she txt me "selfish". it was really outta nowhere. So in short. I told her that 'what is selfish is to give yr kid up and use the 2000 a month to buy designer handbags, while yr other kid needs basic living items.' So she was/is hurt. and I knew it was hurtful, but I believe she did sell her kid for superficial dumb things. like she's stripping behind her husbands back and hanging out with 60yr old men for money at night. I think that she was selfish to act that way and she keeps texting me that I should apologize for what I said. So I need advice. I know it was wrong to go that far, but I believe it's true..and I really don't know if I'm sorry or that I want her friendship.

I have a horrible report card. How can I get my grades up?

Now, this isn't the typical "D". It's the hardcore stuff:

Reading: D+

Math: D-

Science: F

Social Studies: F

Art: A

Home and Careers: B

Foreign Language: A+

Music: A

Language Arts: C+

Technology: B+

I don't want a tutor. Please help.

Jacob, a tutor isn't the worst thing that can happen. Your report is very interesting because of the wide range of grades. It's hard to answer your question without really talking, but I do some counseling so let me give you some questions to ask yourself.

Why do you do well in art, music, technology, etc? Are there common elements to those classes? Do the teachers give the same types of tests? Do you do hands on projects? Do you like those classes? Is there a lot of reading? How much time to you spend studying for each class?

Then look at the courses you don't do as well in and ask the same questions. Do the teachers give the same types of tests? Do you do hands on projects? Do you like those classes? Is there a lot of reading? How much time to you spend studying for each class?

Now look for patterns in your answers. Everyone learns in different ways. For example, I am a visual learner. Courses with a lot of reading and theory, like economics and history are difficult for me. However, courses like math and computer were easier. Once, I found my pattern, I changed my study habits for my economics and history courses. I started making graphs, flowcharts, pictures, diagrams, etc. of the information in those classes. Now that the information was in a visual form, I was able to retain it better.

Some students learn better by reading. If that is the case, take the pictures, diagrams, charts, etc. Write the information out in long hand and study by reading the paragraphs.

If it is that the teacher gives a lot of information verbally, then try practicing your listening skills. Tape the evening news at night or a documentary. While you watch the program, try taking notes. Then play back the tape. Did you get the high points, would someone else reading yours notes know what the story was about? It can even help to have a friend, older sibling, parent look at the information. With practice, you do get better, I did.

Good-luck!
Reply:start studying.

i,ve got 82% through this method.
Reply:Your grades depend on what you want to do with your life.A tutor for the subjects like maths isnt such a bad idea.Do you plan your time wisely?

What is the purpose of the actvity series?

What is the mole(value, what it is used for)?

Discuss the Gas Laws- (Boyle, Charles, Ideal)

Discuss endothermic/exothermic reactions.

What are reactions at equilibruim?

pH scale --acid base and neutral(examples)

Homework help for chem?
a pH scale goes from 1 to 14. 7 is neutral (not 7.1 or 6.9, just 7.0). As a number goes lower than 7, it becomes more acidic. The chemicals between 7.1 and 14 are bases. As the number of the pH goes further from 7, the more basic (adjective form of the word base) it is. Your blood is basic and your stomach has acids in it to digest your food. Water is neutral.

The number for a mole is 6.022x10^23 particles of a chemical. It can be used to find the mass of a certain number of particles (atoms, molecules, etc) and is then used as a conversion factor. The conversion factor is written like this:

6.022x10^23 particles = 1 mole

When you predict the products of a chemical reaction, there is a kind called a Single Displacement reaction (1 of the 5 kinds - I'll go into them later). In a Single Displacement reaction, a reaction may or may not occur.

Think of a Single displacement like a dance: You go to a dance with a date and there is a cuter guy/girl you notice that doesn't have a date. You break up with your date and make the cuter guy/girl your date. The atoms in a single displacement reactions (look at the charges of all 3 elements to know which in the compund will stay in a compund). The activity series shows you which elements are "cuter" than others (if the element in the compound is "cuter", no reaction will occur). The "cuter" ones are toward the top.

In an exothermic reaction, heat is released (an example is a match - or burning anything). In an endothermic reaction, heat is absorbed (photosynthesis is an example since the plant absorbs the sunlight).

I'm in the 8th grade and today I got my report card and I got a 1.67 cn you please tell me some tutoring sites

It looks something like this

Science:E

Reading:D

Math:D

Spanish:C

History:C

Health:A

So could someone tell m some sies that will help tutor me for free please thanks.

i never knew there was a letter grade "E", but I know of some sites. Brainblast is good (it looks babyishh but it helps) and maybe you could talk to your parents about going to a tutur.

I need help tutoring my daughter with science?

i'm very bad at science and need help to tutor my daughter......here r u the questions.:

which of the folowing would have a dull luster?

a.zn

b.p

c.fe

d.pb

which pair of elements whould be most similar?

a. potassium %26amp; iron

b.colbat %26amp; nickel

c. silicon %26amp; arsenic

d. chlorine %26amp; iodine

help and thank you!

I need help tutoring my daughter with science?
You need the periodic table here. For the first question would probably be P for phosphorous since it is a nonmetal. Nonmetals have are not lustrous if it is not a solid and phosphorous is not a solid. Colbalt and nickel would be the most similar since they are both of the same type of element which is transition elements. To further help your daughter you might want to look on the internet for a colored and labeled periodic table.
Reply:Question: Which of the folowing would have a dull luster?

Answer: b) P {Phosphorus}

Question: Which pair of elements whould be most similar?

Answer: b) Cobalt %26amp; Nickel

In the future, you should try http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/hom... - homework help by retired teachers and volunteers (free)
Reply:cobalt and nickel are similar as well as chlorine and iodine (they are both halogens and gases).
