How to get my mother to help me?

When I was younger she would help me all the time. And I used to do really good. But the problem is I need someone to sit with me and go through my math homework with me, otherwise I dont see my mistakes or correct them. Also the problem is I dont have enough confidince in myself in math, so I don't want to do the work and it makes me feel even more bad about myself. now I'm failing and I need to bring my grade up. But I'm only failing b/c no one is helping me.

My mother doesnt want to help me with my work anymore, b.c she says that it is the teachers job, but I dont understand why she helped me when I was younger then. Also, I dont want a tutor b/c I feel guilty for my mother having to pay money for the tutor and I feel guilty for asking for help.

If I tell my mother I'll make dinner or do the washing in return for her to help with my homework, will she help me? B/c I really need help. Any advice.

thanks

How to get my mother to help me?
Even teachers have things they don't know or forgot...

Get a tutor, don't be too proud. By the end of the day your education is your future (better paid future job)

Don't ask your mom she might forgot or don't understand the topic or overwhelmed with homework of her students...

Look on internet on forums for a topic you study - nowdays you can find practically anything...
Reply:Did you ever think your Mom may not understand your math work now that your old and doing higher math... My son is 15 and I am of no use to him when he has math problems, and I was pretty good in math as a kid but math has changed and passed me bye... So you should find one of your friends that is good at math and ask them for help... Or find a tutor...
Reply:talk to your math teacher. he will be happy to help you either in a free period or before or after school.

teachers don't mind helping kids that really want the help.
Reply:Well personally that abosolutely makes no sense to me. If your mother didn't specialize in math I could understand because most parents never use algebra or advance mathematics in their persoanl life but if she's a MATH TEACHER! then I don't know why she wouldn't help you. Maybe she think's that you might be cheating especially if your at the same school as she teaches and she's afraid she lose her job and the thought that you can fail all her homework and test yet she curve your grades and let you pass. But if she won't help you then go by all means get a mth tuitor. As far as funds are concern let her know why you want a tutor and if there's some way shape or form you can do to make it up for her spending money on your tuitoring such as doing more chores or taking out the garbage but yeah i'm sorry to say this but a math mother teacher not helping her own child with mathhomework sounds like something is really wrong with her or she's just to lazy to go throught the process again even thought she goes throught it 5 times a day yet she can't repeat it one more time for her own child. WhAT A SHAME ON HER PART

Good Luck
